Major decisions are being made without your knowledge. This is one case. Yes I did write this and I hope this is the right place for a thread like this. I'm spreading awareness, nothing more.
Dear people of the American Republic, if you are ok with or do not care if your government controls you, your rights and your choices on how you live and what you buy, then do nothing. Otherwise, let me tell you a little story. There once was a man who was pretty happy in life. he earned money, he felt good, he didn't worry about too many things. Then one day, his job was taken away from him. He became poor, injured and forgotten. Soon after, His government began to regulate his purchases. This made his daily life much harder and almost impossible. America has forgotten a very vital principle. You do not fear your government. Your government fears you. I recently read something I agreed with: The Constitution of the United States of America was written to control and limit the power of the Government, not it's people. I am addressing all of the internet people that can find and read this. If you continue to to sit back and solely read Facebook statuses and blogs and do nothing about things when you protest them in your head, you have given up your power. The government will move on without you and your say will be silenced. The recent Bill that was signed and passed (It had been sitting on the Congressional shelf for 10 years) was amended to in the 12 hours before the signing. It was never intended to be reread before being signed. The law that was amended to it had nothing to do with it. The Highway Bill is a Bill regarding just that: Highways and all things related. Three quarters of the way down the Document (I have personally seen this) is a section about cigarette rolling machines in retail tobacco shops. Let me tell you about these shops. They firstly employ between 10,000 and 40,000 Americans nationwide. They account for somewhere near 20-30% of all tobacco sales because they allow the consumer to make their own product, avoiding all of the overhead and chemicals that Big Tobacco companies apply. They are healthier, vastly cheaper and a very viable alternative to paying top dollar for a daily product. They cost 40% of what the Big Tobacco companies charge. This fact alone means that the other 60% of that inflated cost can now go back into the Economy. Now here is what they have done. These companies have been harassing these small businesses for as long as they've been in business. They sneak around and accuse these small shops of manufacturing products instead of selling retail products. This would be the same as a coffee franchise going after Maxwell House and demanding that they raise the price of coffee to $90 a canister because they sell a cup for $4. It's absurd, It's a violation of fair business laws and it's unconstitutional. More specifically, This will not only affect hundreds of thousands of customers who will be forced to change buying habits and daily American lifestyles, but this will put all of those American workers out of work permanently. This will shut down stores nationwide. Big Tobacco had Congress sneak this 3 line segment of text into the HIGHWAY Bill. It was never meant to be read by our Governing President. It was only meant to be signed. And it has been signed. If you have any respect for what it means to be American and if you have ANY desire to maintain your RIGHTS as Americans, I very strongly and swiftly urge you to get off of your fat lazy American butts and stand for the right to fair business. Sign this simple petition below and make a difference instead of complaining about it or worse, doing NOTHING. It takes 60 seconds of your lazy day. If you do nothing, maybe next time something you care about will be taken from you while no one else cares. These are OUR RIGHTS and the Government IS ACCOUNTABLE. Show these greedy companies that money will not give them power. WE THE PEOPLE! We control this nation. There are many petitions on this page and all worth reading. You don't even know these things are happening around you. Go read and sign. Then share this on your page. We are suffering very badly and we need this to spread in 15 days. Thank you for reading this.
