A while ago I downloaded a park that had no CS and needed Soaked! and Wild! However when I went to load the park in game I get this... "There's an expansion pack missing." I own Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 Platinum but won't let me open the park. That same thing happened to a person who download one of my parks, which also has no CS, but, needs Soaked! and Wild!
Any help with this would be much appreciated.
I used to have RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Platinum installed and was having unpredictable problems/error messages/crashes with the game (including the Soaked not Installed, Wild not Installed error you have written about). I received as a gift RCT3 Vanilla, Soaked and Wild – three disks all in one pack. I uninstalled RCT3 Platinum, installed Vanilla and its expansion packs, and never looked back. I was fully able to use all my existing files with the new install.
If I remember correctly, the Soaked not Installed, Wild not Installed error seems to stem from the fact that the Platinum .exe file in the Program Files folder launches the game in a way different from the way the Vanilla/Soaked/Wild .exe file in the Program Files folder launches the game – in other words RCT3 Platinum will launch without the need for the Soaked or the Wild disk to be in the CD drive. Because the Platinum .exe file does not launch the game from the Soaked or Wild disk this will sometimes cause Soaked not Installed, Wild not Installed errors.
Also, if you live in the EU and are using a system bought in the EU I’d recommend you’ve installed an RCT3 game manufactured in the EU. Likewise, if you live in the United States and are using a system bought in the United States I’d recommend you check to be sure your RCT3 game was manufactured in U.S.A. I believe matching these also helped with my unpredictable problems/error messages/crashes with the game.
