Here in Atlantis Gardens Park & Zoo we’ve been over a year wondering why the squirrels had suddenly gotten so shy, and have been mystified as to why for the past several months neither the guests or staff had seen any. Last week, one of our keepers managed to solve this mystery for us with this clip from a movie he was taking entirely by chance while filming one of our giraffes from his mobile phone:



We don’t keep chameleons in the park so have no idea where the giraffes had learned to use their tongues like that ….. and when we bought them, the supplier did inform our buyer that the giraffes were herbivores.
