RCT3 Totally new, totally lost yet experienced PC user

#1
I've got RTC3, which I've had for many years now and I've never really seen the mod scene for it until I came across rctgo (yesterday I believe - although I do burn the midnight oil so I could be mistaken).
So I thought I'd download some custom parks and rides and see what I've been missing in terms of who really has the creative clout to get rides to be absolutely amazing, and...I install the files in their appropriate folders...but I get nothing. Am I missing something considerably important here or what?
I know what to click on, and where to put things, but nothing happens - either the files have "no objects" (in the case of custom rides), or nothing shows up whatsoever in terms of custom parks.
I'm not sure what's going on here so can anyone point me in the right direction on this one? Thanks.

Welcome to RCTgo!

You might wanna delete the README files.

Yeah...they were never much use to begin with. Confused

As for my problem, I had it solved by installing all the RCT expansions. Problem solved.
Strange how some of the tracks I obtained were listed under RCT 3, yet were intended for RCT3 Wild or Soaked. So maybe admin should delete the categories into which the kind folks that upload their tracks, parks, scenery et al to - but that would probably be just as pointless as deleting readme files, right?
