Hi, my friend and I have decided to make a huge and awesome park and we want to make it really big (as in, change the park size settings in options) but we don't want it to crash or lag. When we watch YouTube videos of people making a park they're always saying they only have a certain amount of space or memory or whatever and they can't build more than the memory they are given. Can I not make a huge park without it lagging? (i hope this makes sense, I'm still kind of a newbie.

You'd definitely need a good computer with a graphics card that has at least 1GB of its own RAM in addition to at least 2GB RAM for the use of the system. You'll need Large Address Aware if you have more than 2GB RAM. Then you'll need to streamline your system so it can deal with your mega park. Unfortunately CS has its good side and its not-so-good side. The largest park it’s possible to make in RCT3 is 254x254 tiles.

It’s possible to get by with a not-so-fabulous park that size using very little CSO’s, CFR’s and CTR’s. However if you’re like most of us you use loads of custom stuff so the more custom stuff you’re planning to put in the smaller your map size should be. I used to routinely build 254x254 parks but can't do it anymore because of the custom stuff I put in. I've cut down to about 200x200 for my recent current parks and I'm afraid I'll be cutting it down further with my next one.

If you’re a newbie with custom stuff you could probably get by with a 200x200 park but as you get better with it and add more you’ll find it will start to lag so start with something smaller. Having said that I don’t believe the 128x128 default park size is big enough for anyone so you’ll probably want bigger than default.

Then what you need is a major influx of custom content. Smile To start, here’s Alex’s epic list.
