RCT3 How to improve?

#1
As you may or may not have noticed, I uploaded my first track called Avalanche. I'm looking around on the site, and the creators here are outstanding. This lead me to realize that I obviously have some room for improvement.

First off, Custom Scenery. Could somebody recommend a few good sets to start off with? Are there any tutorials on how to use them effectively?

Before I get too involved with custom scenery, I guess it would be good to know how to place scenery in general. Would anybody be willing to give me some advice on theming a ride, because I could clearly use it.

There's one more question that I've had for quite a while now. Where are you people coming up with these names? Do you just slap some syllables together until something sounds good, or is there a process?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
What if, instead of that, we just don't

For the custom scenery I will suggest watching silvarets tutorials on youtube.

Also I have just entered the world of custom sets, so I've started this thread about the custom supports:

I suggest also this other thread on how to build a realistic coaster:

I was also greatly helped by ChrisMDB in this process, I think that if you send him a PM he will be happy to help you, if he has time.

Hope this will help

@ Anonymous, I'm assuming you're talking about RCT3? If so, then you should definitely start working toward adding scenery. Having little to no scenery in a ride gives it MUCH less meaning than if it had scenery, or custom scenery (CS).

Like Batt suggested, PM ChrisMDB for help, or one of the fantastic RCT3 creators for help on specific things.

Again, like Batt said, tutorials are another great way to learn. Silvarret is BY FAR one of the top 5 best RCT3 coaster makers here, and he does tutorials, such as Siverret, Wilhelm, and others.

Before you even make a coaster, you should do some, or all terra-forming (landscaping). As in, making mountains, lakes, ect... then you can add finishing touches to what you would like your coaster to look like after the track has been finished and tested. There are THOUSANDS of CS ideas and items you can use so that your coaster doesn't look plain with the normal in game scenery.

Since I am not a RCT3 player that often, I'd ask other much more experienced players for help.

If you're talking about RCT2, I CAN help. Same goes for RCT1.

Now for NoLimits 1 or 2, I haven't had ANY experience with the game at all, so I can't help. A couple guys you can learn from if this is NL1 or 2, Maverick360, Ctg614, and a few others.

I hope I helped ya out!

Our entire recommended custom scenery list: http://forums.rctgo.com/thread-6350.html...om+scenery

For theming a ride, with cs theres steps you can take, which I can outline for you if you want
However if we're talking basic theming, you want to decide on just the overall feel
There's not many good scenery objects for making buildings in RCT3, so that's usually a problem, however really with just a name, a colour scheme, some foliage and a couple animatronics you can create a decent ride

Hope this helps

Silvarret did have a link to his custom scenery folder's download on his YouTube channel, not sure if it is still there but it definitely has just about everything you'd ever need. I suggest making sure your computer can handle it though before trying to run it, mine is top of the line and all of his CS plus the stuff I already had just about nuked my computer when I first tried running it with all of the CS xD.

If it isn't on there I'd follow the above tips, feel free to PM me as well.
