Airwave - Ride the Winds - Pictures and Video!

#1
So this ride was one of my personal favorites from start to finish, and was my first real video [Teaser and actual ride footage]. It has been up on a few forums but now that I am here I want to share this project with you all! This project meant something special as this was my first Trance song I fell in love with, as well as this was the first attempt at creating a B&M Hyper coaster. I rewrote the song using FLS10 and to much pleasure the song's main melody was the exact length from the first drop to the mid course brake run and then from there to the final brake run.... all entirely on accident lol.

Anywho I am digressing... Onto some Pics!

Absolutly Amazing!

That's an example, that Coasters without Inversions could be grand. Outstanding Job!

Layout: I think it could be from B&M itself, it has everything you need. Well done.

Colouring: I love it! No more to say. At Daytime this Coaster is nice, but at Nighttime with all this glows on the Track, fantastic! Smile

Theming: Theming on Hypercoasters are not easy, because most of the track is far away from the station. With this in mind i think you've done a great job (not perfect, because perfect is not possible).
The interaction with the soft hills at the end with the footpath looks sweet.

All in all, "Airwave" is an Grand Coaster and avocado i found no point for criticsm!
(Maybe i check out this whole Coaster again to find one) Tongue

Video: Music fits reall nice to this Coaster, again great job!

Excellent job. Your supports, use of colored lighting and ear for music makes me think that you would do well in the field of Commercial Sound & Special Effect Lighting Systems Design.

Thanks! Glad you like it! I know I've spent hours just staring at the screen watching the lights go on and off lol

What do you mean this ride isn't perfect! EekAngry Just kidding TongueAngel Yeah this ride started out after I was recalling my first hyper coaster, Raging Bull. I then started studying the track layout, along with other B&M hypers, most notably Diamondback [especially with the splashdown] And after all, this ride was named after a famous Trance song, so why not up the ante and splash some lights on this puppy and light up the night sky! I tried to keep the theming down to just foliage and lights to keep it somewhat generic as well. Some of my supports are a bit "unreal" or just over the top, though I was trying to create as little "ground presence" with footers and have as little supports as possible, but create that "wave" shape still. Basically I stretched reality a tad bit :P

I would love to have a job like that! Though I am an amateur producer in music I would love to do sound and lighting on any scale for such places like theme parks, dance studios and the like!

I might have to bring back and finally finish an older ride I made and continue this similar type of theming, Rainbow - An INTAMIN steel launch coaster I made for Basshunter's song: Welcome To Rainbow! Wink

I started into the Sound & Lighting biz when I was 21 back in 1986 as a club DJ then kind of got sucked into it.

There is a school in Florida that a friend of mine went to so he could learn more than I had already taught him. His first job out was dong sound & lighting for a cruise ship since they have night clubs and musical shows in theaters.

The school is Full Sail. They even have Music Production and Music Business degrees. One of the Music Production classes is available online.

The full list of on campus classes... http://www.fullsail.edu/online-education/programs . Show Production is the one for Sound and Lighting.

When I first started playing RCT3 last year I had thought I could do some killer light shows on coasters using ride event lighting but lighting in the game does not work the same as lights in real life.

I've heard of that school, I've heard mixed reviews about it so I wasn't sure, as well as I was at the Art Institute of Tampa and Art Institute of York, PA for a few months a piece.... The Art Institute IS a joke -_- . Went there for graphic designing and what not, when you are teaching your teachers what they should already know.... It's a bad school >_<. I will look into Full Sail and see what they offer, I just moved from Florida actually, back to Illinois. Yeah I know, dumb me lol BiggrinRolleyes

You DJ/DJ'ed? What type of music?

It's spelled DJ'd.

When I started out I played NRG, Euro, Funk, House, Disco, Techno, Electronica, Pop, Rap, Alternative and anything else that had a good beat. I was taught on a pair of 1200's and years later picked it up using CD's in under 60 seconds. Eventually I worked with MP3's when they became the thing.

We used to have to manually count the BPM's for every song. Now the DJ software does it for you as well as auto setting the pitch control. When I do play around with mixing now I use Virtual DJ.

Graphic design was also something I had to learn. I worked at the largest and oldest Mom & Pop owned musical instrument store here starting when I was in my late 20's. The owner handed me a copy of Adobe Illustrator and told me to figure it out in less than a week and make him a full page phone book ad. I ended up doing all the graphics work for his two business'. At that job I was the sound, light and DJ guy, graphic designer, visual merchandiser & store designer. He had me design the layout for the new 10,000 sq. ft. store he had built. I had a blast working there since I could order pretty much anything I wanted and play with it before I sold it. I sold more lighting than anyone around. It was the one job where I looked forward to going to work everyday. Like a kid working in a candy store.

This is a link to an 80's playlist of a lot of the music I used to play.

We had the strangest clothes and hair but we had the best dance music. Disco was morphing into NRG with the invention of drum machines, Punk into New Wave into Electronica then into Techno which ended up being Trance. Hip hop and Rap were born.
