Seems like I'm just not getting it-frustrated

Seems like I'm just not getting it-frustrated.

So I've watched all of these tutorials on youtube, and I've practiced. And for some reason
replacing supports on roller coasters have proved to be difficult for me. When I have an idea of a park I want to try and re-create or a ride, it just doesn't seem to look close to it. I don't want to give up because practice is the key. You all just make it look so easy, but I know it's not. I've tried learning how to make cobra rolls, replacing supports and adding catwalks I've run out of patience for now. How do you all do it? Any thoughts? Maybe I'll go back to structure's for awhile. Many of you have given me compliments on my work, thank you. but I'm trying to grow but seem to be at a stand still right now. Any of you experience that? Sometimes I get intimidated by what you all do, but then can be motivated by it as well. Your recreations are wonderful and so realistic. Something I strive for. It's a game, but one I like and want to keep learning because it gives me a sense of accomplishment. When I use cfr it seems like one they start they don't stop in the game. I install the ctr according to the instructions and it freezes in the game.
Going back to basics I guess for now not sure, Sorry for the rambling on...Confused

First of all, keep watching YouTube videos. I'm horrible at supports yet I always do my best. Keep practicing like you said.

As for the Cobra Roll:

1. Large Cobra Roll
-Large Half Loop (left/right)
-Large Corkscrew (left/right)
-Large Corkscrew (don't corkscrew it, just make it turn the opposite way)
-Large Half Loop (left/right)

A small Cobra Roll consist of Large Corkscrews but use the Half-Loop instead.

Notice how the large half loops kinda turn a bit? Make sure the top looks wider than the bottom.

I'm just learning how to make supports for a B&M Stand-up coaster and I keep deleting the little bit that I have over and over again. So I know where you're at but I'm not giving up. I'm watching tutorials all the time.

y know where you're coming from
After watching Flux for many years I finally decided to try out cs recently, and its an insane world
It takes me forever to figure out mob's steel jungle stuff, ad some sets I just don't know about, and don't have, that I've seen some people make some really awesome things with
Personally, I prefer to create my own coasters, instead of recreating, as it inspires more creativity with the track, name, theme, etc.
I find cobra rolls very hard to do supports on as well, so don't worry
Basically if you're having trouble I've figured this out about Moby's Steel Jungle
-Angle means diagonal across the squares, great for turns
-Slant means the same way as horizontal, good for straight track
-put the caps on first
-if you use a regular cap, use regular or extend bars, if you use an edge cap, use edge bars, if you use a center cap, use a a center bar
Hope this helps!

Thanks all for the positive feedback. I have a good understanding of moby steel jungle it's just getting the placement on the coaster when it's time to change out the supports. I have a hard time lining up the connectors, etc. I agree with you naveisawesome about creating your own coasters, I like to be original. Thank you naveisawesome and SimpleFate for your help.

i think supports are the easiest (and most enjoyable) thing for me in RCT3. its pretty simple once you know what needs supporting and where.

just keep watching videos and practicing. it will all click into place eventually

Ive got to disagree Super Moose, i think except for placing trees, supports are the most boring thiing to place, as they are so repetitive, I prefer the station, extra, queue line, land, effects, etc. but thats just my opinion
HOwever i do agree that youtube is the way to learn

supports are my fav cause i dont like to theme my rides. also turning on the grid will help you line up the supports and connectors better

i dont mind doing stations but i hate doing anything that is outside of a coaster. extra scenery, foliage, terrain work... i hate it all

My coaster 0011 1100 was my first go at using Moby's Steel Jungle. So I know what a pain it can be to place supports. I am currently working on another coaster (Far East theme) that I am planning on entering into Round 200 of Build-It. For me I turn on the grid after the coaster is built and then plan the support placement. Keeping in mind where the peeps can walk as I kill the in game supports. I start first with the main vertical bar (I use the Vertical Extended) to place under all the straight pieces (station, lift hills, straight diagonal pieces) as a marker for where I will place the footers. I might use that also on the outside of curves to reference either diagonal or horizontal connectors for the curves. Once I get all those supports placed (footer, main bar, flange, & cap) I will go back and work on the curves. I will leave the loops, corkscrews, & other special track pieces for last. So as you can see I am placing and removing several times on each support before I move on the the next area of the build. As for the spacing between supports, I use what looks right from a maintenance standpoint (30+ years aircraft maintenance USAF Retired) . Hope this helps. Just keep at it and it does get easier the more you do it. I do like the buildings that you make, and I do use those as an example when I am building a park.

Thanks all again for your helpful tips. HLH3 that makes me feel good about what you said about my buildings. I will keep at it. I may make a basic coaster with just hills and drops. See if I can get the supports for those, the catwalks and footers and then move on to the loops, cobra's etc. USAF - thanks for serving.
