I've followed the instructions to the letter to install CFRs into the game but BlackRider's dance floor CFR is still crashing the park as if I hadn't put it in the game properly. Does anyone know if it's possible for CFRs to get corrupted. And if any has the CFR could you maybe help me install it?

I've used several different maps. When ever I get the error message while the game is loading the park file it says Blackrider and Samplerocker so here are several of the maps I've used.

After that I waved the white flag and just stopped trying to install and went to see if I could find some help and got nowhere >_<

If it helps the folder was called Dancefloor when I downloaded it. No instructions, not on any of the popularly used sites...I found it by typing Black Rider CFR Dance Floor into Google and found it on a German site that has a lot of CFRs on it.

Use this one:

Edit: Nope. No dice It's giving me the ol' No :svd for :sid error message. I can't figure out for the life of me why the CFR isn't wanting to load. I'm seriously wondering if the CFR itself is corrupted. :/

Does this mean that after you downloaded it you gave it a different name? If you renamed a CS file that’s your problem right there. If this is your problem, re-download the file you want and install without any name change to any part of the download.

No I didn't change any part of the download. I just noticed Alex was using Dancefloor as two words instead of one. I haven't changed any of the files or the initial folder it was in.

And it didn't come with a Readme file either. I found it on some random German site for CTR and CFR downloads but since I don't speak German and Google Translate sucksssssss I couldn't join the site and ask people for help. So I'm trying to find someone who can help me OR someone who owns the CFR itself and tell me exactly how to successfully install it.

I see alexwohlbruck mentions a Custom folder. Do you have a Custom folder inside your Style folder or did you yourself create a Custom folder? Perhaps your system has files arranged differently. Inside my Style folder I install custom items in the Themed folder. I go to RollerCoaster Tycoon 3/Style/Themed and put the properly extracted custom files in there.

Have you installed other custom items inside a folder called Style on your system or is this your first attempt at installing custom items?

In my experience custom files seldom corrupt during download. Chances are if the files are corrupted they were uploaded to the site you got them from already corrupted. Many times the creator of custom files will admit the files they have uploaded to a custom site may be faulty in some way. Too bad that site was in German or you could see if the scenery creator suggested you might have a problem with his files.

Also, an extremely huge park that is making your CPU, RAM and graphics card run flat out at full tilt is not the best place to test custom items. Are you testing the custom stuff in a brand new park with nothing in it? I have had custom scenery install fine, work beautifully in a small test park, then because the game engine is already overstretched, cause errors in a park that is maxxing out my system.

I have some CFRs that go in the Custom in the Style folder. This is the FIRST CRF that hasn't worked. Everything else I've installed works perfectly, though I have to save a scenario park in Sandbox Mode to use CFRs in the Custom Scenarios (It's not that big a chore so that doesn't bother me). And no I'm not testing the scenery with an empty park.

I'm trying to view a SeaWorld recreation I downloaded that makes use of the CFR itself. I can try to place the CFR itself in an empty park though. I've never really had corruptions or errors installing scenery or rides needed with CFRs in the past though, so once I test it in an empty park, I'm guessing I'll have my answer.
