Really good job so far!!! It's looking very cool. I agree to though^ you should add some more on the driveway. But other than that it looks good.
My website(Facebook temp) pleases like!!!!!!!

There's just a small change that's been made. The lake has been taken out and replaced with a new lake. It just looks smoother now.

One massive amazing looking building! What type of resort are planing on? (beach, ski, luxury etc.) I like the shape of the building as well, especially with the two side coming down like that!Smile

Yes, the shape of the building is outstanding but all the attributes of your structure couldn't be appreciated until I saw the zoom-in shot with details of the windows, doors and balconies. Perhaps you might turn up your LOD options increase your geometry imposter distance and add just a touch of anti aliasing so the screenshots will look more there.

But back to the shape of the building, it has lots of potential and the park could go in any direction with it. It should all look super when you have the time to add the scenery you want. What's that on the ground floor behind all those great huge windows? Dining areas, ballrooms and conference space? If so consider adding chandeliers from Vodhin’s Light Kit 2008 which will light up at night.

If you’re interested in them, some of the chandeliers are quite substantial and come in heights up to 5 tiers so if you don't have enough height inside your structure you could do one of two things:
1. Lower the floor inside the building so they'll fit, or
2. Save your entire building as a structure, delete it from your existing park and replace it a little higher off the ground and have tall elegant windows on your ground floor

This would be a good time to do either because I notice you haven't yet had the time to place the floor or the layout inside. However, this early in your park construction, if you’re going to re-do/reposition your lake it might be a good idea to save your building as a structure, create another blank park the size you want and place your structure in your new park.

Getting natural looking lakes and ponds can be quite tricky and your second one looks good. I have at least one in all my parks and wish they could be saved as scenery – they're just such a bother to make but worth it when you're done! You will find that with lakes such as yours where the level of the water is the same as the level of the ground, when you zoom in and out of the park the location of the shore will flicker in and out of definition from moment to moment and will not always look realistic while going through these changes. Lower the level of the water so it’s 1 high below the level of the land. Your shore will look more natural too, and your beach will look more like a beach. If you want a huge beach to match your huge hotel I’d move the lake further from the hotel so the resulting beach can be wider. If you’d like put some of Spice’s animated coral fish in your water or some waterfowl from Fisherman’s Enchanted Forest.

Of course if you’re going for the tropical beach look there are lots of palms to choose from in Spice’s sets – Spice’s palms are the best! If you’re going for a freshwater lake resort appearance you might want to use some of the reeds from LG Harbour set, or some water lilies from the Water Lily set with pines, conifers, chestnut, tallow, maple and other cooler weather trees throughout your park. Some Weeping Willows and a few Voss’s Laburnum always look good next to bodies of fresh water.

I don’t use them myself but you might want to consider downloading the Beach Fences set which only look good on sand.

Your driveway looks good but I would suggest you change that awning and build one that’s different and more constructed looking. The awning that you've chosen looks like it was placed there all in one piece directly from the menus and it detracts from the overall appearance of the rest of your park. If you really want a contemporary awning try something from one of SK’s sets. I would suggest that, if you're going to put canvas awnings on the balconies for example, then you could have one huge canvas awning above the parking area/driveway – you don’t have to use canvas awnings as there are bamboo awnings, wood awnings, thatch and all sorts of other types, any type will do but they should match, the balcony awnings and the driveway awning – and a few awnings on the beach! This will give your project a much more pulled together look.

For your beach possibly you might want to use something from the Arid Outpost set which has awnings in it. Any set used for awnings can be used over tables & chairs, lounges, for beach huts and as a lifeguard shack.

For the flat top of you building you might want to put a glass structure perhaps incorporating a restaurant in addition to a park up there.

Ok fligttoatlantis, ill take your word for it, but ill write more over spring break, which is next week. See you all soon.

Also I appreciate the help from the thread when I asked what set that contemporary building was made from? I believe it was not moby's sets, as the walls and floors did not match in length.

Ok FlightToAtlantis, here's what I got.

Turns out my LOD options are already fully increased but I had no anti-aliasing and i increased my geometry imposter.

I haven't really had any of the time to figure out the layout of the main floor. I was just testing out the lobby to see if it as easy to make or not, because I'm lazyTongue.

I was already planning on doing that, because the beach was too short, and the lobby ceilings weren't high enough.

That's the theme I was going for. I was planing on using his sets.

I agree, the awning should be replaced, there was something about it I didn't like.

Thank you!!!!! I needed to look for stuff to put on the beach. And this is probably the best stuff to put on the beach.

I actually was going to do exactly what you said except on the main level, but your idea sounds better.Smile

Thanks for all your advise!! It was really helpful.

Our view on your park is so similar I can't wait to see it when it's further along. Thanks for posting how my suggestions helped.

For your glass structure I'd recommend Vodhin's Girders 'n' Glass Walls as it seems to be the only realistic glass wall set around.

There's nothing wrong with that. We can't have every scrap of our attention focused on every portion of our park at all times. Some areas grab our interest while others we don't really want to be bothered with at the time – that comes with the creative process. Some day, a week or a month from now or whenever you'll look at that space and decide you just have to get to it right away but if it doesn't happen right away then it doesn't.

A good book will be written and rewritten for over a year before it's ready. An artist might choose to spend months of practice painting only trees, mountains, or ocean waves. Likewise no park steadily becomes a masterpiece from the first item placed. As you've seen there's lots of trial and error, even abandoning a park and starting new. Lately I've found if I'm thinking 'what if' it helps to save the bit I'm working on as a structure and open it up in a blank new park. Sometimes what I come up with might require that I change the park when I go back to it.

Ok, I have a problem:

So I saved my structure, and I shut down my computer ( I was having a problem with my computer) and when I opened my computer again, the structure wouldn't open.Frown But the original park was still saved.Smug So I will be back in about a week or maybe earlier.

If you were having problems with the computer chances are the save simply didn't process properly due to the problems. Try your structure save again when you next get your system up.
