RE: NEW OLDIE HERE!! - 11RCT - Jul 15, 2016

Fellow RCTers,
Why has my RCT3 been "locking up" and or "crashing" lately?!?
Would a total deletion of the x86 files and new reboot help?
Thanks in advance!
11RCT Smile

No, if you delete all x86 files your game will lose its ability to run. I'd try reinstalling it because this will clean out all of the downloaded stuff you have but keep all necessary files.

Before you do that though post what your error message looks like if you're receiving one. I've encountered quite a few and should be able to help you with the problem (provided there is an error message). If no error message appears I'd try reinstalling the game.

Hi Chris,
I tried the "UNISTALL" option, I get an error when I click on it!

Please copy and paste the error message (or type it out) so I have a better idea of what it's saying.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your assist thus far!  Smile
I am running Windows 7.
As a possibility to my game locking up and/or freezing:
I ordered RCT World online, used it for a few hours, it locked up on me, I called the sim company and was a granted a full refund, as part of the task I had to delete the RCT World program, of course!!
Is there a possibility that the deletion of the RCT World program could have an effect on my long withstanding RCT3 program?
Info is power, so, I am just providing possibilities which could have the rancid effect on RCT3!!  Smile
Thank You again for your support!!  Smile
RCT11 Cool

RE: NEW OLDIE HERE!! - ChrisMDB - Jul 16, 2016

I'm happy to help Smile I think that your system specs may have been the problem behind RCTW crashing, my laptop is high-end (able to run Fallout 4 on nearly max settings for perspective) and mine had problems running RCTW because it was soo poorly optimized. I doubt RCTW could have been the cause of RCT3 crashing though. Not only is RCTW no longer on your CPU, I've never seen a game do that other than Roblox.

Right now I'm thinking it could possibly be a few things:
1. Try running the game as an administrator or with compatibility settings.
2. If the above doesn't resolve the situation check your drivers and system settings to make sure they meet the game's minimum settings. I'm sure they do since RCT3 is over a decade old now, but it's worth a try.
3. If these two above options don't work go into your computer's control panel (accessible via your start menu) and uninstall the game there. After it's been uninstalled reinstall it and hopefully it will work.

Best of luck to you, my RCT3 died for about a month back in December/January and it took me a bit to resolve the issue (which was too much CS/downloaded mods).

Hi Chris,
I did a total uninstall through CONTROL PANEL , as you suggested, then I did a total reboot from the RCT3 disk. I am back up and running, although all of my "Career" completions are gone! That's OK! :Smile I will once again go through all of those original park challenges and have a blast doing so!  :Smile
I've completed the first park challenge, I made my way though Apprentice and Entrepreneur and Tycoon level !! Smile ,
Any other questions, I'll post them for you!!
All of your help is totally appreciated!!!
Thanks, 11RCT Smile

I'm really glad your RCT3 is back up and running! Best of luck redoing the scenarios. Smile
