Yesterday was the park opening. Everything was running perfectly, except the waterfall in the Pine Forest ![]() I went on almost all the rides, and my family and I had a great time ![]() The line for seating for the opening day performance/dedication/festivities was very long. Luckily, there was back-of-line entertainment. Everybody had to look :P. ![]() Very nice dedication speech.... ![]() Once the show was over, everybody left to go see the park. We were smart to leave when everyone was gone to avoid crowds. ![]() ---------------------------------------------------------------------- We had a fun day, today the park was closed. It was a work day, so that uninvited guests to the opening could go to the park tomorrow . Luckily, I took pictures during work. We saw the Square-Dance Stage (behind the ride). Construction workers said building this was a doozy. ![]() I also got to see some testing and stuff like that at the Geyser Canyon, planned to open next year. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Then, when I was just about to leave, the waterfall started working again ![]() ![]() That's it for now! David Walsh -Park Update Director RE: Old America - DutchBros - Apr 10, 2011 cool park you guys should put some kind of a ride like The famous carousel called:Old America carousel RE: Old America - rewnis12299 - Apr 10, 2011 Oh! I already have a carousel called the Tree Carousel in the Pine Forest. 1973----------------------------------------------------------------- Today the park was open for the public. I just arrived at my new office in Old America. It has a very nice view of the park! ![]() ------------------------------------------------ Everybody was at the Desert Prairie for some reason. I decided to check out the new horse exhibit in the Desert Prairie. ![]() This is why we offer three Bucking Bull attractions :P. ![]() This is the cast room for the Square Dance Show. ![]() I turned the knob and a speaker on the side of the door said, Quote:You trying to get into our hideout. Instead, see our Square-dance show at 3:00! I saw the show 15 minutes later. Then I decided to check out the queue at Desert Turns, the Flying Turns with a track :P. It was much longer than I expected. ![]() Same thing happened to Pika Run. ![]() -------------------------------------------------------- I then went to Indian Village to checkout the Indian Explorer Adventure. I love the addition of water cannons ![]() ![]() You really get wet at the Indian Explorer Adventure, there is more to the ride than meets the eye, so check out the story sometime this year. ![]() --------------------------------------------------------- The Pine Forest and the Indian Village was like a ghost town due to the new horses. ![]() The horses need to go... nah, they're way to cute. ![]() --------------------------------------------------- I then went to try out Mine Adventure. It's a teen favorite. ![]() -------------------------------------------------------- I got to checkout the progress at Edison Town. Over at the Country Fair, I took a ride at the Ferris Wheel and saw the colorful queue area for this coaster (there is no name yet). They are still working on the lift hill. ![]() Freedom Square is not the only place that has a City Hall. Edison Town has one too. You could also notice that there are fake electrical wires above the ground. ![]() -------------------------------------------------------- To end off the day, I decided to watch the first fireworks display at Old America. The fireworks made my jaw drop. ![]() ![]() ![]() That's it for now! -David Walsh Park Update Director RE: Old America- Update 4/11 - rewnis12299 - Apr 11, 2011 1973-------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello readers! Today, I have a small update for you guys. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ I decided to check out if those work walls at the Mayflower Landing were still there, and they were. I hope the wall get removed overnight. We'll just have to wait and see. ![]() I then decided to have lunch. We employees must eat at the cafeteria (soon to be the Smoker's Steakhouse) to let guest enjoy their meals at the official meal locations. I love the addition of the kitchen chimney! ![]() I also took the time to check out the new American flag in front of the City Hall. ![]() Another new addition to the City Hall are the Presidents of 1789-1881 portraits. Sorry President Nixon! ![]() I then decided to checkout the progress of the Abandoned Canyon House. They stopped working on it ever since the park's opening! ![]() Later on, I went to Indian's Village to ride Indian Explorer Adventure. The first part of the ride is very nice with the dioramas. ![]() I got really soaked. ![]() I was about to go on Pika Run, but I was not wiling to wait. I mean the queue was almost full! ![]() Sadly my camera did not work after taking the picture of the queue of Pika Run. That's it for now! -David Walsh Park Update Director RE: Old America- Update 4/11 - Coasteriffic - Apr 12, 2011 Quite a nice park you got going here, just waiting for the next update ![]() RE: Old America- Update 4/11 - rewnis12299 - Apr 13, 2011 1974-------------------------------------------- Hello readers! The new year just passed by and Old America is doing fine! Remember last update when I was thinking when they were going to remove those work-walls? Well, there still there and much more have appeared. I got news that they were renovating the Mayflower Landing. ![]() Then I went to stop by at the Tree Carousel. That ride makes me feel like a kid again. ![]() This is the Foul Owl. I don't know why, but this ride is always deserted. I heard that they may be making a new more exciting kiddie coaster. ![]() I then went to ride Oil Mine Drop. The line was really long especially because the ride can only have 12 riders per ride. ![]() And to end off, here is a sneak preview of this kiddie coaster in Geyser Canyon (planned to open this year or next year), Buffalo Run. ![]() That's it for now!
