Lakeside Village (The Final Update: June 22, 2011)

#71
I can't believe I haven't posted an update in almost two years... Eek

I started taking screenshots of the last section last night and will finish here in a bit. Update should be up sometime in the next week, and it should be uploaded to the downloads center not long after.

The Final Update: June 22

After two years of no updates, this is the final update for Lakeside Village. Sometime in the next week or so, the park should be available for download. Enjoy!

If you remember the very last update for Big Blue, you should remember this path. It looks like it goes nowhere. It actually heads to the final section of the park.

You first come upon this small, village-like area. Very quaint and peaceful, like most of the park (those parts that aren't being terrorized by massive roller coasters, anyway Wink).

That staircase in the previous shot leads to a small scenic overlook of the lake. This overlook is the perfect place to take some stunning shots of Big Blue and its reflection on the lake.

Several eateries and foodstands are mixed in with a few flat rides. You can tell this area is leading to something else, though...

More rides, and a look at the closeness of this section to the lake. Just about anywhere in this park, you can get some great lake views.

If you don't want to walk all the way behind Big Blue to get to this section, you can take this little shortcut. It's right between Big Blue on the left, and Blazer on the right.

That pathway takes you to right here. On the left is the collection of rides and eateries we just explored, on the right is something completely different...

The sixth and final roller coaster at Lakeside Village. Yet another tall, thrilling steel roller coaster!

It takes you far above the park, giving riders some amazing views on the ride up. And some awesome thrills on the way back down.

Lakeside Village's natural beauty can be found throughout the park. Thunderbolt is no exception. The mix of water, trees, and stones should be familiar to anyone who has been following Lakeside Village.

Riders will plunge beneath a rock formation before soaring up into the sky again. Truly a thriller.

The head-thumping, heart-pumping turnaround.

As you might remember, I actually finished the park before posting this thread. The entire time, Thunderbolt was sitting right across the lake from the entrance village, which I showcased in the first set of screenshots. It certainly gives quite the impression for guests entering the park!

After the turnaround, Thunderbolt goes through a series of airtime hills on its way back to the station.

A final look at this last section of the park.

I'd like to thank everyone for their patience over the past two years. Lakeside Village sort of fell on the back burner, despite there being only one last update to post. I hope this update was worth the wait!

Note that the screenshots are all JPGs, which, though they have a smaller file size, also are lower in quality.
You can find the crisper, original PNG screenshots here.
