Where on this site does this sort of thing happen and appear to you cause I've never come across this.

That occasionally happens with the Twitter feed on the right sidebar - it simply means that it couldn't fetch the feed from Twitter properly.

Oh. That is weird, but at least it doesn't happen every 5 seconds.
