Wild! Lake Vapid, a fun scenario.

#1
This island was built as a playground for the 5 year-old son of a wealthy industrialist. As you can tell Mark, the 5 year-old, designed this park. Twenty years on Mark is now twenty-five. His father has passed on, the estate adjoining the island has been sold and the park island, now surrounded by unrelated properties is inaccessible and all alone in the real estate market, and no longer wanted by Mark. Mark will hand the deeds to this island over to the person who can turn it into a viable theme park.

Revitalize this dated, tired park and transform it into a mecca for guest interest, entertainment and excitement. Your only requirement is that you get 2,500 guests at any one time. There’s no time limit and it’s a sandbox scenario saved as a park file. As uploaded, nothing custom is required to open the park. It doesn’t matter if your version of making a success of this park is a fantasy park or a realistic park.

Hopefully over the next couple of weeks members will share in this thread the experiences they had in improving this park. It would be great if we could have one or two screenshots as well.

After two weeks, as inspired by SFFTman and his Unrealistic Coaster Contest (http://forums.rctgo.com/thread-17785.html) I’ll make a poll of all those who took part in the Lake Vapid make-over and everyone (myself excluded) will choose the winning remake.

Just like SFFTman‘s contest, the winner will get six rep.

Sorry, forgot the screenshot. Will get that on here in a couple of hours. ^

As we’re the estate agents for Mr. Mark Biltmore we’ve asked him to review your request. He says you hold an interesting portfolio, make a quality offer and that you therefore have carte blanche with your proposal. We note that the transfer of funds is pending and look forward to your development of this property.

Many thanks for the fun scenario FlightToAtlantis i had great fun i hope you like what DR. Anatolli BoldFinger has to say ... and so...Smile

"While the changes made by GREENTOPIA were extensive we kept all the old rides and stalls ; although the old funhouse was in rough shape and had to be completely redone. Patrons can get here by chosing from The Ferry; Charter Boat or even private boats; our commercial charter air service ;private aircraft or if your really lucky on a BF Dirigible. While the expense of the amusement park was unanticipated the grants and endowments BF has received will make it a valuable PR and Research tool." Cool

Thank you for your offer.

Greentopia’s take on refurbishment of this property is a breath of fresh air in an industry rife with excessive conservation/restoration, or total demolition/replacement. Your video has shown us a thorough but balanced solution.

The work Dr. BoldFinger has done on this project in addition to the grants & endowments you’ve received show that your track record has served you well, and attests to the goodwill your organization has built up over the years.

The deadline for receipt of proposals is the weekend of 9th March at which time received proposals will be put to the vote.

Congratulations are due to our winner V1210 , who has won the contest by default.

The prize has been calculated as follows:

Rep for winning: 6 rep,

Plus a Consolation Prize for being the only entry: add 4 rep,

Award for Outstanding Achievement: add 2 rep. (It’s outstanding because it’s a damned good park).

Due to limitations on the amount of rep that can be given in one day, your prize of 12 rep has been split into two awards. 6 rep have just been placed in your account, and the additional six will be placed tomorrow or when I next log-in, whichever comes first outside the 24 hour restriction.

So, Dr. Boldfinger, sometimes the agents don’t always get the number of proposals we anticipate but we’re glad we received yours. We’re happy the anticipated changes will be extensive but sympathetic to the existing property. Please consider the deeds to this property to be yours.

Well done!
