I just re-installed RCT3 platinum back onto my PC, and whenever I load a sandbox, it says:

"Bad header (missing file?) 'C:\Program Files\Atari\RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Platinum\Tracks\Platforms\Vanilla\NoPlatform.Common.ovl'

This error has also been sent to Debug.log"

I click OK and the game crashes.

Advice?

I have an idea: If you have $8.99, you could re-get the game! Does that work Cool Tongue

What I did was:
1)Uninstall the game
2)Delete the atari folder in programfiles
3)Reinstall the game!

I did lose all my CSO though...

It’s a bother but I’d also recommend re-installing it. Try one or more of these options:

  1. Try installing your copy of RCT3 on to another computer.
  2. Try installing RCT3 on your computer from someone else’s copy of RCT3 that they’ve already used successfully on their own computer
With any of the above options and prior to installing save all your RCT3 stuff somewhere safe where it won’t get deleted when re-installing.

After any successful install of RCT3 it needs to open for the first time with nothing custom added.

The file that’s named in the error message you posted is an RCT3 file that installs with the game so this suggests that your copy of RCT3 might be corrupted or there might be a problem with your system copying and putting this file where it needs to go. This could very strongly be the case if the same file name comes up in this same error message after each install.

Do you get any error messages while the game is installing or does the install seem to take place with no problems?
