I've had RCT1 (and 2) on a disc for a while, and it really isn't designed for Windows 7; it has a habit of glitching my mouse up and occasionally showing garbled colors briefly (and I think it's actually crashed on me a couple times). I'd heard that it recently got re-released on GOG.com and possibly other places. I was unwilling to buy it again until I found out that it was only $3.00 (and the second game only $5.00), which was doable, so now I have that version as well. The problem is, I can't seem to transfer my progress in the game over. I had completed every park in the original pack and the first five parks in Corkscrew Follies (none of Loopy Landscapes yet), which is still a minority but enough that I really don't want to do it all over again. The save files and saved track designs still seem to work, but the scenario list is reset back to the beginning. Yes, I tried copying over CSS0.DAT, and that did nothing. Can anyone help me out here?
I'm not sure about RCT1 but for RCT2 you could try copying the scores.dat file from within the Saved Games directory.

I don't have any progress in RCT2 to worry about, thankfully, except for some custom scenarios (that I hope will still work, but I haven't tried).

I take it there is no scores.dat file in RCT1 then? I don't have RCT1 installed right now.
Have you tried copying all the files over from your original install to the new one?
Hawk
I have, and no, there doesn't seem to be a scores.dat file.
No other ideas? I also put in a ticket with Atari's customer support a few days ago, but I haven't heard back from them.
The Game.cfg file actually seems to be exactly the same in the two different versions. Needless to say, copying it over did nothing.

Okay, since no one seems to know how to fix this (and my progress somehow seems to have been erased anyway...*insert stream of curses*)...new question: Is there any way to change the names you put into the scenario list?
Edit: ...And apparently, messing with CSS0.DAT in a hex editor (I just changed one byte to see what would happen) causes my game progress to come back, presumably because of a checksum system of some kind. Well, that solves the first problem (hopefully...and mind you, this version still glitches up my mouse, just not *as* bad); now how about the second?
