Windows 10? Do You Like It? What works, what doesn't?

#11
10 is basically just a better version of 7. XP was the god OS of Windows, Vista was their worst, 8 was an attempt to make a PC into a phone, and you know how 7 and 10 run. I never have problems running programs on 10, and if I do it's because they're over a decade old. There were some issues when 10 first launched, compatibility and other issues, but it's in its prime now and works great.

I thought I was the only one making statements like "XP was the god OS of Windows." Anytime, I praise XP, I get written off as a moron. I'm currently using Windows 7 and I actually like it. Vista was a NIGHTMARE for me. I replaced my hard drive due to OS crashes like clockwork. Once every six months.

I can't personally speak on 10 as I haven't used it, but I'm slowly getting into PC gaming beyond RCT3 (I got two games on Steam each for under a dollar today) and to me a decent OS is one that lets my games run without problem or incident. My main reason for sticking with 7 is that after the nightmare I had with Vista, I kinda developed trust issues with Microsoft.

XP was my favorite versions of windows as well. I was so annoyed at Microsoft for updated it and not supporting it anymore after the new versions came out. Vista was the worst in my opinion. I experienced 1 time using another persons computer and I couldn't stand it. The thing I couldn't stand about Windows 8.1 was all the pop up windows that happened all of the time. Windows 10 has resolved this issue in my opinion. But no, I don't think that way of you because you like XP as well. There are other people I know who still wish the version was around.  Smile

I also liked xp, even though I was only around for a few years until they replaced it.

XP was all I used until I was forced to upgrade to Vista when I bought my junker desktop. I honestly don't know how some people say Vista is good when it was soo terrible on my desktop. Anyways, XP is soo good that some Asian countries are still based on it and refuse to upgrade. RIP XP, RIP.

R.I.P. is right. If anyone told me Vista was good, I'd probably try to have them committed lol.

When I started using Windows 10 I noticed my Function Keys were not working. I finally fixed it today. Here is the article I read to fix the issue...This was for a Dell laptop. If you do not have a Dell laptop it may not work for you.

I have an HP and they've always worked for me, I simply have to press the 'fn' key first because my function keys do two things (for example 'F1' for me both pulls up a help screen and does whatever is binded to 'F1', however to trigger 'F1' I have to press 'fn' + 'F1').

I tried using the Fn and then the F10 (as an example), but it didn't work on my Dell Laptop. But I appreciate the information anyway. Someone else maybe able to find this information helpful on there system. Smile
(I tried that before I had to change my keyboard from multimedia to function keys)
fyi: there are a lot of people trying different things on YouTube, to fix issues they are having with their keyboard using windows 10. I would be cautious of trying anything on your system unless it's directly from the company you purchased it from.

Ctrl + Shift + F11 creates a movie of the roller coaster you are making if I remember correctly. The problem I'm experiencing now, windows 10 media player does not recognize the file and I can't play it back. So I'm done with Iron Phantom. I finished it today. But I can't show the movie, because I can't get the codec to work or I'm missing it. I don't know. Please help.

Download Windows Movie Maker - it's free and allows you to edit the video.
