@Maverick360, yes I really loved Nighthawk. I hated the hour and a half wait time, but it's the first ride you get to in the park, I believe. You might have got an unlucky car, or something, because I was in the back and had an absolutely fantastic ride. Super intense when you are looking straight up, then all of a sudden, straight down.

Part of it might have been that I was really tired. I wasn't really ready to ride a Vekoma first thing in the morning. I'm also kind of spoiled and used to B&M flyers.

Aw. Well, I rode something even two things that were much worse than that, a really great woodie, 325 and then stood an hour and a half in Nighthawk. I actually have not been on any Vekoma ride, or a B&M Flyer, so I was expecting Nighthawk to be terrible...lol

There's one ride at CW that I will never ever ride again, and luckily for me, I rode it the very first time right as the ride opened when the park opened....Vortex. Likely THE worst roller coaster I've ever been on. Carolina Cyclone was not great either, but surprisingly, in the top four of my favourites at CW would be The Hurler. Absolutely buttery smooth. Something I did not expect since it's twin at KD was a big fat flop.

I was at Carowinds for a week, and I had a season pass so I got ERT on Fury in the morning. 8 straight rides without getting off. Some of the greatest mornings of my life. I actually didn't mind vortex that much, and I will agree with you that Hurler isn't that bad really.

Let's see if I can name 10 roller coasters I've actually ridden...

10. The Roller Coaster/Manhattan Express @ New York-New York Hotel & Casino
North America's only surviving TOGO coaster makes the list solely because of how few roller coasters I've actually been on. Despite being the roughest ride I can remember, I still liked it enough to ride it three times in a row. That's more than I can say about the few coasters that didn't even make the list. Also the fastest roller coaster I've ever ridden at 67 MPH--an unacceptably slow freeway speed if you're driving in front of me.

9. Ninja @ SFMM
I literally remember nothing about this ride except that it didn't feel much like a roller coaster, and that it was still better than Gold Rusher. When your one trip ever to Magic Mountain is with people who don't like roller coasters, Ninja can end up being your third best ride experience behind Colossus and that one log flume that's better than the other one.

8. Space Mountain @ Disneyland
Eighth seems pretty high for an indoor coaster that doesn't even exceed 30 MPH, that is until you look at the total size of the list. Did I mention I haven't been on more than about 15 documented roller coasters in my lifetime? 8 out of 15 isn't even in the top 50%. It also wouldn't even be in my top 5 list for rides at Disneyland. It would probably instead fall between the Jungle Cruise and the parking lot tram.

7. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad @ Disneyland
This ride would be nothing without the scenery interaction, but it pulls off scenery interaction so well, you almost forget that the top speed is closer to that of It's A Small World than it is to that of Magnum XL-200. Not that I've actually experienced the latter when the former is plenty fast enough.

6. Canyon Blaster @ Adventuredome, Circus Circus
This might be the only Arrow looping coaster I've actually ridden. It also has more inversions than any other coaster I've been on, and it's one of only two total roller coasters I've ridden since 2010. During my most recent visit, I sat in the very back and temporarily blacked out. Good times.

5. El Loco @ Adventuredome, Circus Circus
The S&S El Loco with the lowest maximum drop angle is the steepest roller coaster I've ever ridden. For its puny size, it still packs a punch. I rode this one in July 2016, making it the last coaster I've actually been on.

4. Journey to Atlantis @ SeaWorld San Diego
I don't care if this is barely a roller coaster; I love this stupid thing. Even if it has been over 10 years since I've ridden it, it's the only reason I'd ever go back to SeaWorld. Two splashdowns is two more than any other coaster on this list will ever have.

3. Colossus (the non-twisted one) @ SFMM
Even though I prefer the aesthetic beauty of steel coasters, I find their wooden counterparts much more fun to ride, even though apparently I've only ridden three. It's a shame that this one met the fate that it did, because it would have been the coaster I would have most looked forward to riding should I ever return to Magic Mountain. It's also the only one in the park that I rode twice.

2. Giant Dipper @ Belmont Park
I clearly have a type, though this one doesn't quite compare to its older brother in Santa Cruz.

1. Giant Dipper @ Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
The earliest non-kiddie coaster I can remember riding (7 years old during first ride), this is also the only roller coaster I've ridden many times over the course of several years outside of Disneyland. If ever a coaster existed with the right amount of airtime hills, headchoppers, and rickety turns, this would be the winner.

Holy cow, if Manhattan Express is in your top ten, you probably haven't been on a lot of coasters then.
