The Ice Howler - Round 269 Winner

I know a RCT Loopy Landscape/RCT2 site that has much higher standards, so be lucky to be here!
Also, don't be so mad about loosing a round! It's only your first round, so give yourself a chance. I know that you have potential and you can make a better entry next time. And we also got entries that were way worse than yours!  Wink
Trying to make an inspiring park or coaster.

@ Terry: That record wouldn't happen to belong to someone we know would it? Wink lol

@ RCTMuttinDudge: I totally agree with Supra, we've had rounds where none of the entries (not even the round winner) deserved to be entered, let alone win. Persistence pays off and you'll find yourself with laurels soon enough if you keep up the good work.

Build It! voters do expect a certain level of quality, but the standards for each round are only as high as the best entry. If you look at voting threads from previous rounds, you'll find that, while some have one obvious winning coaster, others have multiple entries with strong winning potential, while, as Chris mentioned, some rounds don't have any entries that stand out.

The one approach that will not pay off is giving up. Even the user who lost 17 times in a row entered an 18th time and won the round. It was not unlike Bartolo Colon's first home run.

Well what to them is considered "quality"? I mean I can only do so much

While quality is ultimately subjective to each voter, there are four basic guidelines that will always improve your chances of winning.

1. Layout is smooth and doesn't contain features that would cause riders discomfort, i.e. unbanked curves or inversions taken at high speeds.
2. Scenery is placed in a pleasing manner and not randomly.
3. Foliage is diverse and not just a bunch of the same two or three plants aimlessly plopped around the map.
4. Terrain is painted appropriately and not monotonously. Plain grass is fine, but it shouldn't be every single square of your environment.

....Needless to say, no, you're not going to win every single round, or every other round. ....Also needless to say, my profile in Build It is not that good.... lol Just keep improving and ask questions often, we've gladly helped already, and will do so again. Good luck.

Two entries, one second place (distant second) and one last place (zero votes).
Information Kiosk 2 looks too intense for me.

I figured that dry streak of losses was from when you first started out, I'm glad RCT2 is appreciated on site nowadays (in comparison).
