Alright I'm going to come clean, and I know its supposed to be anonymous, and I was trying to bamboozle y'all into not knowing, but Salvager is mine, and I'm here to back it up at least, also hi I'm back for the summer making stuff
First off I'm really curious on why Twister and Turbo are getting the majority of the votes, so here's my honest feedback on the other 3, as unbiased of an outsider as I can be
In general I think all 3 of these coasters have the same problem, one that's often bothered me, anyone who's been here long enough know what I mean when I say "Maverick's old signature" but for those who don't know, all 3 of these coasters really don't have much theme, which bothers me because I think working with a theme is one of the most creative and challenging parts of building a coaster. All 3 of these are good solid coasters, and the support work on both Turbo and Twister is fantastic, as well the layouts, I also really appreciated the different foliage on Retro Rocket, giving it somewhat of a theme at least, more than the other two. But all of these only have a layout, supports, a station, some terraforming and some foliage, so to me they're solid, nothing wrong with them, but they aren't even close to build it win material, not to say mine is, but I feel like if I was able to vote this round my vote would go to rocket from the three of them, simply because it has some kind of creativity, no matter how small it actually is
Ok feel kinda bad doing this, but I feel like to sort some things out here, and also I appreciate the feedback none the less, it is my first time ever working with CSO in RCT2, I kept this under wraps for months, with no feedback cause I wasnt telling anyone so I do appreciate it
@Chris - I see what you mean with the underpopulated paths thing, but it's supposed to be wide open courtyard style, the path I used were actually pieces of roof, that I thought looked like a nice unique tile, and I did make sure to put streetlamps in, but I also just enjoyed the European feel of an open tourist like attraction. Also yes I realize I'm lacking in custom supports, which is something I'll have to start using, however we've agreed in the past that the vanilla in RCT2 are much better and suitable than the ones in 3, making it less necessary for customs in my mind
@ZIscor - Glad you caught my vanila scenery mix, I still love the NCSO objects, so it was nice to add in a few features of CS. I do agree with the colour point however, at one point I had red highlights in the park and it seemed like it was too evil, so I just themed the station with white and the other buildings with black as a contrast, while using both kinds of teal, however I'm sure I could have used something to change it up a bit. For the path thing see what I said to Chris above, although I do agree maybe a bit of variety in path would have made it more interesting, variety is something I'll have to keep in mind for future creations
@Nozem - The layout is odd yes, but I guess I didn't really explain it well enough in the description that it's basically a tourist trap, and the coaster itself was not done with much thought, I meant it to look carnival - ish while also showing the riders the lighthouse, which was the main attraction, I think I was just done with doing twister layouts and wanted to try something smaller and less extreme, while sticking to my spread out layout style
So yeah, that's just my thoughts, but I'm back in the game, going to start working on another one soon, hopefully it'll take less time this time since I'm off school for the summer, but overall this is a very challenging round for me to have entered in, no coaster here is bad, all are solid entries, best of luck to everyone else
