There is a thread on the Atari Community forums about this (located here) that has other users suggesting using another CD/DVD Rom drive. If this does not work I also suggest trying to install the game using a backup on your hard disk drive (deleting the backup after installing it and using the original cd to play the game). That is about all that I am able to come up with for solving the problem you are having.

Hope one of the suggestions above works for you

mmmm.... I recently am getting an error when ever I try to reinstall my rct3, like this one, but not exactly. I suggest the following, but first BACKUP your Harddrive or RCT3 Data!:

1. Delete the "C:\Program Files\Atari\RollerCoaster Tycoon® 3\" folder.
2. Delete the "C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\Atari" folder.
3. Delete the "C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Documents\RCT3" folder.
4. Delete the "C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Pictures\RCT3" folder.
3. Delete the "C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Movies\RCT3" folder.

Go Into RegEdit, and delete the following keys (folders):

"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Atari\RCT3 Soaked"
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Atari\RCT3 Wild"
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Atari\RollerCoaster Tycoon® 3"
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{45653847-497F-47BB-A878-46FBDE34A3E0}"
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{907B4640-266B-4A21-92FB-CD1A86CD0F63}"
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{EA926717-CE5A-4CB4-AB21-9E6E9565A458}"

That last HKEY might vary a little bit.

After that try reinstalling

This maybe stupid but did you restart your computer after un-installing -before re-installing?

It's a common mistake that people make. I forget sometimes to do it myself.

If you need to restart you think it would say somewhere in the computer manual or on the software that you have to 'RESTART YOUR COMPUTER, BEFORE YOU REINSTALL THIS SOFTWARE'...

I actually never new that! :O
