Woodbury Park

#1
Woobury park is a park, that has been brought to the attention of Drayton Monkey and Co, after serious neglect. The park began life in 1950 as a village park where children played merrily on swings and slides. And every year on the 1st October, there would be a celebration of Woodbury Village. This would involve a fete, with jam jam stalls and a Big tombola. Then late on that evening there would be a huge fireworks celebration.

The park was put up for sale in 1970 when a small construction firm, "Dodgit and Run" bought the land, and decided to build a Theme Park. The park opened in 1972 as a small park and it appeared to be a Fair, with lots of ex-fair attractions.

At the front of the park was a large Manor which fell into neglect as the park lost it's visitors in 1996. There were no new rides added and at the end of the season the park shut it's gates for one last time.

Then Drayton Monkey and Co decided to buy the park for a mere £6 million, including permission to build on the land and create a Brand new theme park!

Whether it becomes a sucess is yet to be seen but, the main Man had a few words to say......."Yes it is true that we have bought the land and park and we will be adding new attractions as well as adding over 100 jobs to the local village of Woodbury. The park will open in 2006.......

See below for our shots of the park in 1996......

This is all that was left when Drayton Monkey and Co took over the park, the Manor at the front of the park has been restored and the construction of the new Monorail has began!

Mr monkey you are getting better at building parks. I remember when you were building very simple basic buildings. Now look at what you are building. They are not amazing buildings like what Shaun and the G-man builds. But there are amazing. I always like your parks. I always like your parks because they are very simple and basic designs also I like it how you don't use Custom Scenery. Please keep up the fantastic work :!:
I will give you two rep points thing.

Thanks, I think this is going to be my best park yet. Mainly due to the fact I'm using the scenario editor and not the sandbox, thus meaning I can keep the park closed, Not starting up the "game" and lag meaning I can make it better!

I was considering using some custom scenery for this park, although it crashed RCT3, and I lost the file so I started this instead. Also thanks for the rep points, it means alot to me!

Any other comments or critism?

Nope, I managed to put it into the correct folder, anyway I'd rather not use any Custom Scenery as it makes it harder for people to download at a later date.

Just cause I have to rip the front off to get to the CD Driver, it doesn't make it dodgy. Well maybe it does but hey

At the moment it does look a tad basic I'll admit, but as I start adding new areas it'll be a Lot better!

Thanks, I've got a few BIG plans for the park.......

Welcome to 1997, the first year of construction fore the park. This year saw "World of Adventure"'s rides arriving and many buildings being constructed. Most of the year was focussed on landscaping and preparation for the new lake and stream.

The first task was to extend the monorail, adding a new section of track and a new station. Then the park's first "ride" arrived. The Teacups. The Circus Tent was also constructed and was hiring entertainers.

Then the new and improved, Ferris Whell was added. This ride then had to go back to Huss and be tweaked as the carriages refused to open or close.

The Spiral Slide had recieved a new colour scheme, it was orignally blue and white when it arrived at the park but it was given it's new colours to fit in more.

The Chairswinger was ready and rearing to go and took over 30 men and a cranbe to put up.

The Jellicopters were running swiftly after a few safety checks.

Then the new Dodgems tent was put up and the first of many (33) cars arrived.

Next year the park will be adding new billboards and theming along with a new entrance to the World of Adventure!
