I have just purchased RCT3, but stupidly did not check that my laptop met the requirements. When I put the CD in, a RCT3 box comes up with a few options. I click on Install. The box disappears, and for a few minutes nothing happens. Then an error box will come up telling me that Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 is not installed and I should insert the disk. I have tried a few times and the same error keeps occuring.

My laptop specifications are as follows:

Model: Acer Aspire 1360
Operating System: Windows XP
Processor: Mobile AND Sempron™ Processor 2800+, MMX, 3DNOW, ~1.6GHz
Memory: 190MB RAM
Hard Disk Space: 251MB used, 497MB available
CD-ROM Drive: 24x speed
DirectX 9.0c

I am not sure, but I don't think I've got ATI Rodeon 8500 or GeForce 3, which the back of the game says is required. Since I'm on a laptop I don't think there's much I can do about this.

I was looking at the download section of this site and saw "Lite Version". I presume this version is made for users who don't meet the specifications for the full game. However, when I clicked on it, the file is not listed anywhere on the main downloads list. What can I do? Can anybody help me?

The 'Lite Version' of the download database is basically our old verson of the download site, before we developed it.

That sucks, but thanks for your help. Any chance there's anything I can do to make my computer compatible for the game? It's difficult to replace things with it being a laptop, since everything is built in. :cry:

Unfortuantly Youve awsnerd your own question. Ram/memory would be somthing you can upgrade, Mostly found behind a bit of screwed down plastic underneith the laptop. To find out the type of graphics card you have go to start then run and type Dxdiag in the box. Allthough i would guess that by the looks of the specs it would be somthing like UniChrome Pro IGP. in other words onboard shared graphics.

As for other stuff i think your pritty much limited. Maybe look into taking your laptop to a pc shop ect. they may beable to do somthing that you wouldnt beable to. Other then that your best bet would be to look into Building up a pc. Search places like ebay ect for cheaper parts. You could allways start off like i did with a basic set up for around £350 then improve parts when you have some etc cash
