Thunder Lake Year 1 [SMPI] - Update #2

#1
I've finally decided to post my newest park (that will actually be finished, fyi) and I am pleased to say that I have quite a bit of work actually done so that I have a decent first update. (And this time I have somewhat of a story, so any reference to my "company" is just me.)

Thunder Lake is a small park that is situated in a mountainous area. It is also a heavily forested park, much like RCT1's Leafy Lake, although the lake is more separated and looks to be like many lakes were connected together. It was decided that this location was ideal for a park, and my company was called in to oversee the construction of the park. Now, since I don't think that we need to bore all of you with our construction photographs (nor would you want to see them), we will just go ahead and show only the finished pictures.

First, here is the main project logo. Just a little something our graphics artist put together; I thought it might be nice to have.

Now, we should move on to the main shots of the park before anything else. It's a simple park, really, and I believe that it has a lovely atmosphere for thrill seekers and families alike.

Our guest services building, with excellent modern-style architecture.

Now, we move over to the station of the flagship coaster, Impact Spike. You can see also our Animal Stunt Show and our newly constructed restaurant, the Modern Café, in the shot.

The same shot from a different angle.

This is just a shot that our photographer thought was nice; you can see the water feature in the shot, although we forgot to turn the fountains on that day.

Again, one of our photographer's "artsy" shots. I wish he got more detail, though. I'll have to talk to him about that.

Now that I hopefully have piqued your interests, I think that you'll enjoy some shots of the flagship coaster. This coaster features many inversions and a towering vertical drop. I give you Impact Spike!

More detailed shots are on the way; the pictures just need to be processed. A video is in the works, too.

And finally, here is a little taste of what's to come. I present to you: a new Euro-Fighter coaster directly from Gerstlauer. It is called Ratiasu (and you'll find out why soon).

I hope you enjoyed our opening day update, and be sure to watch this park as it grows.

Why, thank you! It's funny, both of my major coasters so far are over the lake, although they occupy different sections of it.

Well, today I have more pictures to display. I finally got into the park with our photographer and I am quite pleased with his work. On the subject of the park, there have been some very significant additions and changes that I would like to point out. There were a few complaints by park guests that the first drop of Impact Spike was somewhat painful; we have since decreased the angle of the drop for more comfort. Also, our second inversion on the coaster was under too much stress so we had to shorten the inverted section. Regardless, it is still the most popular attraction at the park. And our new Euro-Fighter was just finished on Monday, and the trains were sent through their first runs. It was quite a successful test, with all trains finishing the run without any problems. I'm sure you're all tired of reading, so I will show you more pictures right now.

Those detailed shots of Impact Spike's station have finally come in. (The digital image files were quite large and the graphics shop's computers had a hard time with them.)

Here are those elements on Impact Spike that we fixed.

Now, on to our Euro-Fighter. It is named Ratiasu (If you don't know where that came from, it is the Romaji form of the Pokémon called Latias. I was stuck for a name, so we held a contest to name it; a young girl about 12 years old sent us the winning entry.) This particular Euro-Fighter is different from all the others. The original 97 degree drop was too large to fit in with the surrounding terrain features, so it is only a 90 degree drop. I'm sure you want pictures, so here they are.

I hope you enjoyed this most recent update. Please take a look and comment. We really appreciate the comments you all give us, so the more the merrier! We are currently editing the video footage of Impact Spike together, and that should be the highlight of the next update. Thank you for your time.

Abit more flowers/bushes on that last pic will make it look life-like

Awesome shots!

What is the scenery that has been used for the Impact Spikes station if you don't mind me asking?

I am looking forward to seeing the finished park. Keep up the good work!

Thank you! The station is made of Hangar 71 and some of Shyguy's stuff.

The first two sections of Thunder Lake are finished (that is, until next year) and we have moved on to the third section. There is a new group of flat rides just for the younger guests along with a Giant Ferris Wheel and an observation tower which provides a bird's eye view of the entire park. Also gracing Phase 3 is a Giant Flume ride called Splashdown. Before we post the first pictures of Phase 3, we need to turn our attention to Phase 2 because we have just taken some new pictures of it.

The new flat ride and restaurant in Phase 2.

Now, here we have Phase Three. This phase includes a children's play area as well as some other flat rides. The major addition to the park's skyline is Splashdown. This ride will definitely get you wet.

More pictures are on the way, as well as a Phase 3 promotional video.

Now, there are still some additions to the park that are on the way. These include a new coaster, some more food choices, and even some new flat rides which should arrive next year. As we near the end of our first year of operation, we hope that you enjoyed this year and we hope that you return next year.

How did you get the different colors on the base of the Gentle rides? Love the park maybe a indoor swimming pool would look nice and a large hotel.
