Now, this is all speculation and opinion - do you think the RCT series is dead?

No news for months, no news from Frontier - but this could also mean another thing.

This could mean that a new RollerCoaster Tycoon game is being built, but so far, is just secret, as I'm sure has occured in the past. Hopefully, we haven't heard anything at all because they're taking their time, making it a very high quality product, supposedly unlike RCT3 with it's lag issues, bugs, etc.

We could go on for a year, two, or even three years before we even hear anything - this could be both good and bad. We could have a whole new game, adding tons of new, requested features ahead of us, but just not know it.

I think we should look on the positive side, but you never know...

What's your opinion on this? Do YOU think RollerCoaster Tycoon is dead?

I think that RCT3, had died. Probably the day that Thrillville was planned. Thirllville, is planning to have most of the features of RCT3 and without the lag....aparently. But it is onlt meant for consoles, not the PC.

If RCT3's dead, what's gonna happen to RCTgo? You can't be RCT all the time if there's not any news or updates?

Heh, I have plans We can always change our focus from just RollerCoaster Tycoon to roller coaster tycoons

And also, RCTgo isn't an RCT3 fansite - whilst that is our main and primary focus as it is the most recent game, and our original focus, we do have forums and downloads sections (well, the forums and downloads are all in one :whistling:). So if there indeed is a RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 in the future, that will most likely become our main focus, as many people would be looking for information on that.

Now, I'm not saying that I hope RCT is dead, because most surely, I hope it isn't. I do think RCT3 is dead, though, as we haven't seen anything about new expansion packs, etc.

Oh and also, I heard that at some point, they are planning on making Thrillville for the PC, after it's released for the consoles.

I dont think its dead yet, im a diehard tycoonist, i hope they make #4 or another add on for 3 i love this game its all my world since im disabled.

Nah, it's not dead.  At least not in my book.  LOL  But I agree with you.  I think maybe they're just creating one amazing game, way better than all 3 combined.  More awesome rides, more real parks, more food stands, game booths, etc.  So I'll just be patient and enjoy what I have now until they're finished!:clap::2thumbsup:

I forsee three possibilities...
1.In every RollerCoaster Tycoon game they have only made expansion packs for each. That could also mean they only planned on three RCT games also. Most games, if not all (Like the Final Fantasy series which is extremely annoying since they have like MXXIV games, lol.), usually end up as a trilogy.
2.The guys of the RCT team have gotten to more "important" things, like building ACTUAL roller coasters.
3.If there is a SimCity 4, THEN THERE'S A ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON 4!

Well, if you look back into past, I believe there's just 2 expansions for each game, and then a new one
