Hey everyone,
With RCTgo 3.5, we pushed a brand new video theater featuring a collection of videos about the games, and a few user-made videos as well. However, converting the videos to a friendly format was time consuming, as was uploading your videos somewhere so we could add them to the Video Theater. It simply wasn't working.
For this reason, the Video Theater was almost completely rewritten. It's no longer a popup, but instead just another part of the website. While support for the existing videos remains, we've also added support for YouTube videos. That's right - when RCTgo 4.0 launches, you'll be able to add your own videos, hosted on YouTube, directly to the theater in the applicable category.
How exactly does it work? Pretty similar to the way you upload a download to the Downloads Center, actually. All you have to do is provide the YouTube video ID, a name, description, and category, then submit the form. We'll review the video and approve it as soon as we deem it appropriate.
Once your video is added, it'll have its own dedicated page, just like downloads. From there, you're able to not just watch the video, but also post comments with your RCTgo account - again, just like downloads.
You'll also be able to manage your videos directly from a new link in the user bar - you might have noticed it in the RCTgo 4.0 announcement. There's no need to really show it, though - nothing too exciting.
More soon!
