All Roller Coaster enthusiasts know it, the battle between Six Flags Magic Mountain and Cedar Point has been going on for a long time now.
Currently both parks have 17 roller coasters, tied 1st place IN THE WORLD; but, Cedar Point just announced that they are removing a roller coaster before the Summer season. This makes SFMM the sole "Roller Coaster Capital" of the world. Now, in SFMM's facebook page a lot of haters are saying that SFMM doesn't deserve the title just because Cedar Point is removing a roller coaster; they claim SFMM doesn't deserve it because it was not achieved by their owen merits. HATERS ARE GONNA HATE... It is dumb to claim that because, if you remember, SFMM had the title with no ties at 18 coasters. Then in November 2011 Deja Vu was removed and so SFMM tied with Cedar Point... therefore, the people saying that SFMM doesn't deserve the title because it wasn't achieved by their own merits then, by the same standards, must also think that Cedar Point did not deserve the title just because SFMM removed a roller coaster.
Before 2011 SFMM had 16 roller coastes and Cedar Point had 17; then SFMM added two more to total 18 (record setting). SFMM removed Deja Vu late in 2011 tying with Cedar Point; and now Cedar Point is removing a roller coaster. Technically SFMM did earn the "Roller Coaster Capital" title by their own merits. By the way, in 2013 a new Roller Coaster is opening at SFMM. ANOTHER ONE!
Bottomline: both parks are great; I haven't been to Cedar Point yet but I would love to go; it has a lot of roller coasters in the top 10 which makes it great. I just don't like people trash talking.... come on, does it really matter which one has more roller coasters!!!!??? JUST GO AND HAVE SO FUN!!!! THAT'S WHY THEME PARKS ARE FOR, RIGHT?
Btw, I'm going to SFMM this weekend!!!!
