No CS Scenery Advice

#1
I'm going away for the weekend, but whenever I go somewhere with no internet I like to keep RCT3 close at hand. Just to pass the time over the weekend when I'm not working at the carnival I'm doing magic tricks at, I figured I'd build a simple pirate themed park.

One of the rides I'm adding is a Crazy Golf course I built called Smuggler's Cove (based off a golf course in St. Petersburg, FL but not a recreation). I'm trying to use water fixtures (such as waterfalls) as well as maybe some simple flat terrained cave as well as foliage to build this course.

Without using or recommending any CS, can people give me some advice on how to add an area with a waterfall near one of the holes to add to the scenery? Thanks in advance.

Old Spice's Waterfalls has CS waterfalls.

You're probably away for the weekend by now but should you want to do this another time, I'd recommend you use at least three levels, with a body of water on each, with each level high enough to make an in-game waterfall. I would place the golf course on the middle or lower level with much of the course near the falling water. A few long broad waterfalls would probably look better than several narrow waterfalls. Possibly you could set up your miniature golf so it plays on more than one level.

Waterfalls suggest lushness so I wouldn't use any of the in-game cacti, desert, sci-fi themed or horror themed plants. Use plenty of palms to carry your pirate theme, some huge trees (banyan, acacia and perhaps a few baobab for interest) and plenty of green plants. The ground should also be grass covered with duned sand for the beaches, and give the park an island, hill or mountain background. If you decide not to go completely pirate, some carefully constructed buildings might give your golf course that Caribbean country club look.

You will remember that there are height, width and depth requirements with the in-game waterfall feature so I'd prepare the landscape prior to placing mini golf. I'm afraid I don't know how one would build a cave in RCT3.

Thank you one and all Smile I did experiment a little but it was nothing compared to this advice. I'm gonna have to play around with this.

I've haven't had any success making Old Spice's waterfalls look realistic but that's probably my own fault. Whenever I've given them more thought I've reminded myself that they are, after all, created by Old Spice and if he's created them .....

I could probably get something satisfactory if I gave his waterfalls more time. If you can figure them out, possibly you could have one or two holes of your mini golf behind (or through) the waterfall.

Let us know how it's going. Show us a picture when it's done!
