Hello RCTgo Community!

#1
The name is XKJGX, or just KJ for short. I come looking for a place to learn how to build better parks and coasters, maybe make a few friends along the way.

I played RTC: Platinum some years ago but sadly, a virus killed my computer. I had logged nearly 700+ hours perfecting a park with 3000 some odd guests, all gone. I haven't installed RCT since then. It wasn't until a friend told me about how you can add custom coasters, scenery, catwalks, etc into RCT, in which I had no idea you could do, I'd decided to install the game again.
Boy am I glad I did!

I actually never heard of RCTgo before. That wasn't until I searched "custom scenery" on Google. I saw some amazing tracks and scenery in the downloads section and I wanted, no, I needed to be part of this amazing community.

Hope this introduction wasn't too long and I hope to meet you guys on the boards Wink

Welcome to the RCTgo community! Nice story you got there, and I never got 3000 peeps in a park before.

Seeing that you have just entered the world of Custom Scenery, here is some valuable info: You might see the word CS everywhere. It means "Custom Scenery." To install it, usually the instructions are located on each download's readme, but most CS or custom scenery can be installed by putting the folder where all of the CS files are into Program Files/RollerCoaster Tycoon 3/Style/Themed or if you are using a 64-bit computer, paste it to Program Files (x86)/RollerCoaster Tycoon 3/Style/Themed. You need to buy both the Soaked! and Wild! expansion packs for RCT3 from Atari to ensure compatibility with all CS. If you see "RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Platinum" instead of "RollerCoaster Tycoon 3" that means that you bought an edition with both the expansion packs already so there's no need to buy them.

CTRs (Custom Tracked Rides, e.g. custom rollercoasters) or CFRs (Custom Flat Rides, e.g. custom-made Ferris Wheels) are installed differently, but the instructions are complicated so usually the readme.txt file in each download has the instructions. PM me if you can't find it, though.

Anyway, I hope you will enjoy the RCTgo community! There is lots to do here, like the BuildIt! competition and the forums. Don't miss out on anything.

P.S. your introduction isn't too long, at least for someone who loves to read, not sure about the TV lovers tho.

I agree with Nerdygeek. No introduction can be too long. Even to those who don't like to read I'm sure if the intro is interesting then one will cancel out the other.

The other initials you may need help with are CSO which although seldom seen, means custom scenery objects and is simply another name for CS, custom scenery.

Welcome to our boards KJ.
