Soaked! RCT3/RCT2 Haven't played it for awhile.

I haven't played RCT3 for awhile. Think I'm gonna download the custom scenery sets I use to use and try and make something. It's going to be tricky though, I'm so use to using Planet Coaster or Parkitect where it's so much easier to make the coasters. But with the custom scenery sets for RCT3 you can do so much more.

I haven't really played RCT2 although I do have the game. I think it's a great game and appreciate all the work people do when making something from this game to. I would like to try making something in RCT2 but not sure how to play without a budget or if you can. When I go to Edit Scenario it's a little confusing for me. So if any of you know of some good tutorials for RCT2 let me know. And if you make a video of it while you are recording how do you do it? When I use bandicam it always comes out small.

Thanks Smile

SupraTheHedgehog, Blaze, Terry, or Ziscor are all great resources for anything RCT2 related. I can tell you right now that OpenRCT2 will probably become your best friend if you want to start making projects in RCT2 though.

Thanks...
I looked at the OpenRCT2 and didn't quiet understand it. So for now, I'm gonna just stick with what I have with the game until I get more familiar with it. I am able to run it on Windows 10. I had to go to Control Panel, Turn Windows Features On or off, then Legacy Components and Direct Play. When I checked the Legacy Components and Direct Play and hit okay, it searched for required files (on my computer) when it was done it applied the changes. I was able to launch and play the game.
Not sure I really understand what OpenRCT2 is.

OpenRCT2 modifies the game to have features not in vanilla, more ride types (CTR's), unlimited money, the ability to modify any scenario in any way, the ability to modify the inventions list mid-game, you can turn clearance checks off (which allows you more flexibility with scenery, and allows you to splice tracks together, allowing you to make RMC's, Arrow coasters with large loops, etc.). IF you want to see a ORCT2 project vs a vanilla RCT2 project compare Tropicana or Merlin's Odyssey with something like my coaster Wasp - huge difference in quality both with scenery and track design.

Thanks for the further explanation. I think I will re-learn the base game and then go into the other stuff you mentioned down the road. I will take a look at the one's you mentioned.

It's nice to see that more and more folks are trying RCT2 and OpenRCT2. I agree whole-heartedly with Chris about OpenRCt2. It is the best 'modding' tool for RCT2. Eventually, OpenRCT2 will become its own separate game, but that's a different story.

Anyways, good luck in your search for stardom in RCT2. I know you can do it!

I found an RMC ctr that someone made for RCT2 and I was thinking of using it to update magic mountain with twisted colossus

Thanks. I started playing around with it tonight. I admit I was confused. I am truly amazed at what you guys can do with this game.

Does it allow you to make custom tracks?
