RCT games have scenery packs and CS readily available to them. Unless you use Nolimits 2 like I and a few others do, you don't understand the work that goes into creating these coasters and scenery for it.

Just because something is harder to make doesn't make it better, it would have had much more of a chance with a video. Nolimits coasters without a video are much harder to judge than an RCT coaster without a video.

Agreed with Rudy18. Videos help me see the coaster more clearly and the surroundings. Sometimes with only 1 or 2 screenshots it's hard to judge the users design because you only get one point of view usually. I was having a hard time between 2 entries. But one of them had a video that helped make my decision. My vote went to Mamluk by MrNozem77. I have many reasons why I voted for this coaster. And I know some may not agree, but that's okay. I liked the design of Mamluk and I thought the coaster was well made and smooth. Something I would want to go on. I also have tried building a coaster in NoLimits and in RCT2 so I know they are challenging programs in different ways. Smile

@ian44accordx:
you getting sick of us and some of us getting sick to see everytime NL creations without good scenary.
And why do you think only track building is hard work?
Scenary and surroundings are hard work too. Scenary work takes much more time to build than only a track layout.
And there are some CSO's for NL out there. But if NL players don't use it, well it's your own problem.
So deal with our opinon, because we deal with your thoughts as well.
BtW, only because we give feedback that is maybe negative, doesn't mean we don't like the design at all. You see it way to negative.
And if you can't deal with every kind of Feedback, you should play something different or don't post anything in the web. The internet is the place where everyone can offers his personal opinion, if you like it or not.
So chill and calm down a bit and don't take it to serious!

@all:
We are near round-200, so normally every person with some brain should allready know what members expect on a round.
It should be clear that an "overview" of the whole creation is a must have.
Also some close ups of the track are very welcome. And if you can't make a video, more screenshots are also very helpful.
For RCT3 and NL/NL2 creations that allows ingame POV's a video is more/less a must have.
RCT2 can be tricky if it comes to videos, but it can be done.
So i would recommend that RCT2 entries doing good if they use videos aswell.

Another thing that should be clear is, that all games can't be judged the same way infact of there limitations each one has. So the skill-lelvel is slightly different compared to each game.
RCT2 has most of the time blocky looking buildings, so there is no suprise uf they are most of the time look basic in gerenal, but they can improved with little details here and there.
But on RCT3 with more/less unlimited options, basic looking structures aren't as good.
That speaks only for the low skill of the creator, sorry if it sounds rude.
RCT3 gives a lot variety, so use it!
NL/NL2 are great if it comes to smooth and realistic looking layouts. But without any video we can't see the smoothness of it.

A little example what can be done with NL and some skills.

Great coaster, great video, nice scenary with track interaction including a queue/fast pass and station.

All of us had enough time to watch other ones great work, doesn't matter if its NL or RCT.
So we had enough time to know which things are good, and which things could be better.
If the great creators using videos with POV, maybe we should also do some video work.
If there is a music/sample that fits with the coaster theme, maybe we should als try to use music in our videos.
There are enough great examples out there they show us how it could/should be.
The simple thing for us is, use other ones work for inspiration.
That means, try to copy the other ones work to learn how it's build and which techniques are been used.
Than try to create your own style with the knowledge you learnd before.
If you copy different things from different people you create your personal style. But this takes a while.

Also try to create something different that is maybe not be done often. Every great creations starts with some fails here and there. Good ideas need some time to grow up.

A good thing is, that we've got players out there, with a high skill level.

Sorry for this roman of post, but man, i'm on fire.
Also if someone think i insult him in some way about my thoughts, feel free to let me know that.
I don't want to attack someone in personal.
If it sounds like that, than these persons have my excuse.

So long, Cobra
Keep it everytime fair and with enough respect for each other!

Um no shade but shade, there are not a lot CS for Nolimits. #1, you have never had to deal with our opinion. I have remained quiet for the longest about this because I observe, and all I see is comments about how the scenery in Nolimits entries for the past few build its are not on par. Again I repeat, unless you know the program, it takes a lot of work to make CS for no limits. #2 if you don't know this by now, Nolimits isn't a game its a simulator. So don't tell me to play something else or to don't post anything. Just like you have and share your opinion, I can share my thoughts and opinions on what I feel, and I feel that Nolimits entries are given the back burner. Out of 199 entries only 3 or 4 Nolimits entries have won. That isn't a fair ratio if you ask me. I'm just tired of it. But you know what, I'm not going to sweat it. I am always learning about the Nolimits program, and I have something advanced planned. For the past few months I have shown how far I have advanced in Nolimits, and I will do it again. *drops mic*

aecrouch7413, thank you for addressing my opinion in a respectful way. I do appreciate it.

Ian, do you know how to make NL2 custom scenery? If not, use sketchup.

Quote:3. Great American Dipper - I think it's actually the level of Jungle Adventure, my final thought is that the two RCT2 tracks are tied, they got unlucky this round Frown

Jungle Adventure has minimal scenery, almost no terrain work, and nothing much around it besides the path from the Build Your Own Six Flags scenario.

Is this the level of quality you believe my design reflects?

Finally, Cobra comes to a decision.

To be honest, both "Mamluk" and "Great American Dipper" are equal for me.
I also respect both creators, so i can't go for someone who i like maybe a bit more.
(Aside of the fact, that it wasn't fair to vote for someone who is more familar to myself)
My vote is about which coaster i would prefer more in real.

And that's a Woodie, so "Great American Dipper" gets my vote, because Cobra said so.

So long, Cobra
