Game crashing on collecting resources 20%

#1
The following problem has just been unearthed by myself after returning to RCT3 :-

In the majority of cases after having downloaded and installed various rides from the RCT3 exchange etc , when reloading the game it crashes with a CTD and an RTC3 plus.exe error at the collecting resources 20% mark.

Looking at the Crash Dump file the details seem to be all similar with the following information :-

Unhandled exception "Breakpoint" in "D:\RollerCoaster Tycoon 3\RCT3plus.exe" at 0023:00c50bce

I have all the RCT 3 expansion packs ( Europe version ) and this crash now occurs on both my Win XP system and a WIN 7 64 bit system.

Does anyone know the reason for the crashes or can offer any sort of solution.

At present I have to delete the ride involved and then reboot the game but the programme now seems to want to reject nearly every new ride which I would like to install.

Ok , a further weird problem :-

I have the Original RCT3 and the 2 expansion packs and all the logos show on loading the game.

However it appears that if I download and install a ride which states that either Soaked or Wild expansion packs are required then my game crashes at the loading resources 20% as per my first post.

If I load any rides which only require the base RCT3 then the loading is ok.

Can anyone explain why the game should crash for these rides when I have the required expansion packs ?

Does your RCT3 work OK if you create your own tracks? If it does, have closer look at the tracks you are downloading. Maybe they require loads of CS additions.

run the game as adminstrator

I don't think running the game as adminstrator does anything to affect the game. I would try tot make sure that you have the CS needed to make the coaster run. But usually shouldn't crash at collecting resources. Usually it only crashes when you place the coaster. I would try and get a new game. That should solve your problem.

I am also having the same issue, If I download anything and attempt to add it into the game, my game will crash immediately when trying to load the resources. The game works perfectly without the added content and I have some saved coasters of my own which seem to load properly.

If anyone is still having the problem, I had the same one and I realized I had not deleted the custom CTR icon folder I had made in the Style/Themed folder. After I deleted it the problem stopped, so this could be one solution
