Thanks for the support
I'm tired of waiting, so let's fast forward a year.
New Swiss Times
August 15th, Yr. 1
The much anticipated amusement park, Bear Creek opened today to around 300 guests. The area of New Swiss saw an increase of visitors from just 250 guests/month to a little over 300 in one day. The park is free admission, however, tickets are required for the rides. Tickets can be purchased at the New Swiss Lodge, Palmer's Inn, or underneath Arrowhead.
Parking Outside New Swiss Lodge
Guests who haven't traveled to the area within the past year were surprised to find improved parking outside the New Swiss Lodge (Part of the New Swiss State Park.) The new lot was constructed by the Shoque Enterprises team with shared funding from both entities. It only has spaces for 44 vehicles, however, so guests without ADA needs are requested to park at the central New Swiss State Park parking and catch a shuttle which will carry them the rest of the 15 miles to the park. Upon closer inspection of the lodge one will see just how closely Shoque Enterprises is working with the State Park, as the lodge has been decorated for the grand opening.
Helicopter View of Bear Creek
The New Swiss Times was approved for special access helicopter tours of the park during the soft opening ceremony. Here is the park in it's entirety, which includes Arrowhead (a wooden roller coaster), Bear Creek Rapids, The Bears Den viewing galleries, and two types of rental boats (canoes and rowboats.) In the foreground of this picture is the employee parking garage.
Teddy in the Bear's Den
Children will squeal with joy when they find the huggable Teddy in the Bear's Den. The park has several little nooks and crannies like this one for the youngsters to explore. The Bear's Den is also home to a small snack stand selling drinks and chips, as well as the amusement park's only restrooms and first aid station. It seems fitting since it's in the middle of it all.
The Arrowhead Eatery
For when the growling you hear isn't the live grizzly bears in the park, Shoque has provided a large counter-service restaurant underneath the Arrowhead station. It also houses the valley's largest indoor picnic area. Guests are allowed to bring their own food into the park.
The unnamed fort currently under construction
With three-story fortress walls blocking the public's view of a red mountain, it's no wonder that excitement has started to stir. The unnamed fort that Mr. Palmer mentioned during the company's first press conference a year ago borders the state park land and could possibly be the official entrance way into Bear Creek. Locals are excited to find out just what's inside those walls during the grand opening next June.
New Swiss & Shoque
A Match For The Ages
New Swiss Lodge Stage
You may remember this stage from the Shoque Enterprises Press Conference a little over a year ago. The stage and costuming building to the right were just the first of many joint ventures between the New Swiss State Park and Shoque. This stage, funded for by Shoque Enterprises is not only equipped with an projection screen that rises from the ground, but also is easily changeable so that the State Park can host many events there. Everything down to the benches can be changed. Another example of the two parks cooperating on a new field was the purchasing of the entire town of Jessup. You may remember that different individuals were buying the town. They were indeed agents of the both parks. Together they are going to transform the rundown town into employee housing. The already existing Jessup Train Station makes this plan the obvious remedy for lack of housing nearby. Employees of Bear Creek moved into their apartments just one week before the opening.
[Keep an eye out tomorrow to meet a VIP Guest who will show you around the park!]
