Why can people do what ever they want as long as they are not harming someone?

It is called living your own life in America with the rights and freedoms that our US Constitution guarantees to all Americans. Those rights are not just for those Americans that you think should have them while denying them to other productive tax paying Americans.

People are not allowed to pick and choose which parts they can live by while ignoring the rest of the document like is done with a bible.

With the US Constitution it is all or nothing. The Constitution was written to protect the rights of the minority from mob rule. That is why the US Constitution trumps State Constitutions.

So it is only wrong because there is a law against it. What if you were on the moon where there are no laws, is it right to harm someone there?

Quick question. Who defines morals? Who decides what is good or bad, like how you all think gay marriage is a good thing? Who said "Murdering is bad and having fun is good"?

Well this has to do with sex marriage because a little while back Blu stated that as long as what someone is doing (being gay) is not harming anyone it is okay. So why is it bad if we harm some one? was my question. Now all that I am asking where do you get that from. If there was no law how do you know that it is morally wrong to harm some one? Or is harming someone something that is always wrong, therefore being an absolute truth? And if it a absolute truth were do you get that standard?

Very smart people founded this country. Our laws are based on history. What people have done to each other for many centuries, what works and what doesn't work. Look at all of the savage countries that do not protect all of their people. They all have laws based on religions.

America isn't very old compared to the rest of the world yet we are more advanced in so many ways including human rights. Countries that do not have human rights use religion to control people. Not in America. It isn't allowed in our country because of the damage it does.

Do you actually think that two guys down the block getting married is going to damage your parents marriage? That their being happy and receiving the same protections under the law that straight couples have is going to be the end of the world?

If you have a problem with two men being married then it is exactly that. Your problem. The majority of Americans are beyond that just like they moved beyond that with slavery, women's rights and civil rights. We are a progressive nation, not a regressive nation.

Who's morals are you trying to justify? Christians? Catholics? Muslims? Judaism? Hinduism? Each one of the religions claim that all the others are wrong. Who are you to say which one is right and which are wrong?
